Review 630: Girvan 1992 23 Year

Last Sunday we had our first Whisky Club Groningen gathering in our clubhouse Cafe de Toeter in Groningen. Traditionally we have a left-overs day (everybody bring some bottles that are limping on their last leg) which each year seems to result in the mass murder of bottles. This year we killed a total of 31 bottles in just 3 hours.

Review 510: Bladnoch 1992 19 Year

This is the 11th whisky of the 2nd edition (2016) of the Whisky ProefOlympics (tasting Olympics) a blind tasting competition based in The Netherlands. Yet again a new expression for me. Review 497: Port Dundas 1988 25 Year

Today I visited the newest appointed Ardbeg Embassy in The Netherlands, Slijterij Frans Muthert in Musselkanaal. Aeilke Muthert welcomed me warmly and straight away offers me a dram to taste. Review 432: Auchentoshan 1999 11 Year

It’s bottles at cask strength, natural colour and non-chilfiltered. So this is a good start and when I look at the colour this promises some big flavours from the cask and it’s previous contents.

Review 311: Port Dundas 26 Year

My eye also caught this 26 year old Port Dundas (and two other interesting ones to be reviewed later). It’s offered at 43% and you can select your own bottle size. I opted for a small 10cl bottle to taste this. The only thing I miss is the details about this expression there is no mention of the distillation year, chill filtration, colouring, etc. That would give it an extra dimension for me.
