Review 649: Glenfarclas 1993 24 Year

Time to taste another dram from one of my favorite distilleries. I generally like the consistent quality Glenfarclas puts out there. The single casks and the cask strengths are generally lovely and have a good depth of flavour and the whisky has, most of the time, a very good price to quality ratio.

Review 612: Mystery Speyside 1966 46 Year

This undisclosed whisky is rumored to be from the Glenfarclas distillery. And this not being the traditional sherry cask makes me quite curious. This one has been maturing in an ex-bourbon hogshead and should produce quite the atypical Glenfarclas experience (if it is indeed a Glenfarclas). So let’s not waist any more time and find out how this mystery dram performed in my glass.

Review 601: Glenfarclas 175th Anniversary Chairman’s Reserve

A while back we (3 friends and me) had a monster tasting Saturday. We where supposed to select the odd few bottles/samples from our collection to let the others taste it. And as it turned out everybody had great trouble selecting the “few” bottles from their collection . So we ended up with a table filled with bottles and samples and had a hard time shifting through them all to select the ones to taste (oh well, life sucks).

Time to taste another dram from one of my favorite distilleries. I generally like the consistent quality Glenfarclas puts out there. The single casks and the cask strengths are generally lovely and have a good depth of flavour and the whisky (apart from the Family Casks range) has, most of the time, a very good price to quality ratio.

Review 372: Glenfarclas 25 Year

I’m a sucker for a good Glenfarclas. I’ve tasted quite a view expressions by now the 105, 8YO, 10YO, 12YO, 15YO, 21YO & 40YO. Today I had this 25YO in my glass and in my humble opinion it has a great price to quality ratio.

Review 366: Glenfarclas 105

Glenfarclas 105 matured exclusively in sherry casks and is bottled at cask strength with 60% (105 proof UK). For its price to performance ratio, the Malt Maniacs named Glenfarclas 105 their ‘Bang for your Buck’ in 2004. And in my opinion this still stands for the current version. For the older bottling of this whisky the age was stated on the back label as 10YO but nowadays that statement is gone from the label.
